maybe you needed more breadcrumbs to hold everything together. also make sure you drain the chickpeas very well, any extra moisture may cause the falafel to break apart.

I just made these (I LOVE falafel) but they completely fell apart as soon as I put them in the oil. Could it be because I used breadcrumbs instead of stale bread? Will certainly try them again soon.
